Clarity, Honesty, and Feeling
I've noticed something over the years – that expansion, the kind of growth that actually holds, never starts with the vision itself. It starts underneath it. With clarity. With honesty. That's really what led me to create the Becoming bundle – three journals that, together, ask you to look at your whole self before asking you to imagine a new one.
It begins with the shadow. I know that word can sound heavy, even a little frightening – like something to brace for. Shadow work so often gets dressed up as a daunting task, something to survive rather than something to meet with curiosity. I wanted to offer something different, because there is a quiet beauty in darkness, if you let yourself see it. It's the dark sky that lets the stars shine. It's the stillness of night that gives depth to everything it holds. Light and shadow are not opposites fighting for space – they're two halves of the same dance. Mirror, Mirror was born from that - an invitation to finally hear the parts of yourself that have gone unheard.
Then comes the second kind of honesty, and it's a simpler one, though somehow harder to sit with. Life holds countless possibilities – countless versions of who you could become – but you only live one life at a time. Your energy is limited, and when your vision scatters across too many "could-bes," your power scatters with it. Present Life Map is where I ask myself, without flinching, where I actually stand today. Not the story I tell about my intentions – the truth of how I spend my hours, my attention, my choices. Placed beside a New Vision Map, that honesty becomes something useful. It shows you exactly what stands between you and the life calling you – which beliefs, which fears, which old patterns are quietly still steering the wheel. And once you stop scattering and choose one direction, your energy gathers like a river finding its bed – ideas and opportunities beginning to arrange themselves around the path you've actually chosen.
And only then does it feel right to reach for the third piece – the feeling. Somewhere, your future self is already living. Not a hazy someday, not an idealized version of you – a real person, living a version of your life with a different inner climate, and because of that, a different outer one too. You're not creating her from nothing. You're tuning yourself to the frequency where she already exists. In Future Self, you meet her more than once – you write to her, and receive a letter back. You step into her body through a guided visualization, feel how she moves, how she decides, how an ordinary day feels different in her hands. And slowly, you carry pieces of her back into your own.
That's the whole shape of Becoming – not a straight line from shadow to vision to future self, but three honest mirrors, each reflecting a different layer of the same truth. Clarity about what's been hidden. Honesty about where you stand today. And the felt sense of who you're already becoming.
